1990 - Geoscience Regulation

Geoscience officially becomes a regulated profession, after more than ten years of effort to bring about this change in British Columbia, amidst concerns about practice overlap and a lack of oversight over mining resource evaluations.

The Association of Professional Engineers of BC (APEBC) becomes the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC), and a new pathway to professional licensure for geoscientists becomes a reality.
